To tell or not to tell
… when you see your friend cheating on his girlfriend, who happens to be your friend too?
I found out nearly four months ago and just only last night, confessed to her that I knew what she’s been suspecting all along after they’ve broken up for nearly a month.
Sounds like a lot of Maths but yeah that’s the gist of it.
It was her closure but it was a painful one to realise still, even after their breakup which by the way had nothing to do with infidelity.
She was disappointed and could not understand why none of her friends, including me told her about it. I have no defense other than a hypocritical statement that some of our friends were cheating on their girlfriends too but we kept quiet for them. No defense for it besides the handicapped excuse that they were both my friends and I lacked courage to be the first one among our friends to snitch to her.
I shouldn’t have made the choice for her then. It kept her in the dark and in the relationship. I was wrong for not snitching. I regretted not telling her then.
The ethical issue of being a good friend here really just backfired on me. For that, I really am very sorry.
How about you?
Would you snitch on your friend for your friend?
